Flooring Installation in Greater Baltimore, Carroll & Frederick County

Ceramic tile, hardwood, carpet, laminate and LVT — installed over a properly prepared subfloor, with clean transitions and trim.

New floors, installed flat, tight and built to last.

Flooring changes the feel of an entire room — and it’s the surface that takes the most abuse. A beautiful floor that squeaks, gaps or cracks within a year is a bad investment. DACS Painting & Home Renovation installs ceramic tile, hardwood, carpet, laminate and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) with the subfloor prep and finishing details that keep floors looking right for years.

We’ll help you choose the right material for each room, measure precisely, and give you a free, written estimate that includes removal, prep, installation and trim.

How we install floors the right way

The finish you see depends on the work you don’t. Every DACS flooring job includes:

  • Precise measurements and a written material and labor estimate
  • Moving furniture and protecting adjacent rooms from dust
  • Removal and disposal of existing carpet, vinyl, laminate or tile
  • Subfloor inspection, re-securing to stop squeaks, and leveling where needed
  • Acclimating wood and laminate products to your home before installation
  • Correct underlayment, moisture barrier or tile backer for each material
  • Clean transitions between rooms, plus new or reinstalled baseboard and shoe molding
  • Final cleanup and a walkthrough with you

Painting and flooring together

Planning to paint too? Do it in the right order. We typically paint walls and ceilings first, install new floors, then finish baseboards and trim last — so nothing gets scuffed or splattered. Because DACS handles painting and flooring, we sequence it all for you.

FAQ

Flooring questions, answered.

Luxury vinyl tile or plank (LVT/LVP) is usually the best choice. It’s waterproof, handles the humidity common in Maryland basements, feels warmer than tile, and installs over concrete with the right underlayment. Carpet is a comfortable option for dry, finished basements.

Sometimes. Floating floors like LVT and laminate can go over some existing hard floors if they’re flat and secure, but carpet must always come up, and tile and hardwood generally need a proper substrate. We’ll check during your estimate and recommend the option that gives you the best long-term result.

Most single rooms of LVT, laminate or carpet are installed in a day. A whole floor typically takes two to four days. Tile takes longer because of setting and grout cure times, and hardwood may need several days to acclimate before installation begins.

Yes. Removal and haul-away of existing flooring is included in your estimate when needed, along with moving furniture in the work area.

For anywhere water is a concern — kitchens, baths, basements, mudrooms — LVT is the better choice because it’s fully waterproof. Laminate is often more scratch-resistant and can cost a bit less, making it a good fit for dry living areas and bedrooms.
