Interior & Exterior Painting in Greater Baltimore, Carroll & Frederick County

Crisp lines, smooth trim and exterior paint that holds up to Maryland weather — backed by careful prep and a free, written estimate.

Professional house painting for Maryland homes.

Paint is the fastest, most affordable way to transform a home — but only when it’s done right. Peeling trim, wavy cut lines and paint on the hardwood are what happen when prep gets rushed. At DACS Painting & Home Renovation, painting is the heart of what we do, and we approach every room and every elevation the same way: protect it, prep it properly, then finish it with premium paint applied by experienced painters.

Whether you’re freshening up before a sale, finally tackling the colors you moved in with, or protecting your siding from another Maryland winter, we’ll give you a free, written estimate that spells out exactly what we’ll do.

Interior painting

Inside, the details are what you notice every day: crisp lines where the wall meets the ceiling, smooth trim with no brush marks, and doors that close without sticking. Our interior painting service covers everything from a single room to an entire home.

Walls & ceilings

Living areas, bedrooms, stairwells and high ceilings, including flat-to-eggshell sheen changes and accent walls.

Trim, doors & millwork

Baseboards, crown molding, window casings, wainscoting and doors finished in durable semi-gloss or satin enamel.

Cabinet painting

Kitchen, bath and built-in cabinets cleaned, deglossed, primed and finished with a hard-wearing cabinet-grade coating.

Drywall & surface repair

Nail pops, cracks, dents and water stains repaired and primed so they don’t ghost through the new finish.

Exterior painting

Maryland weather is hard on a house. Humid summers, freeze-thaw winters and strong sun break down paint and caulk, and once water gets behind the finish, wood rot follows. A professional exterior paint job isn’t just about curb appeal — it’s your home’s first line of defense.

Siding

Wood, fiber cement (like HardiePlank), stucco and previously painted vinyl or aluminum siding.

Trim, fascia & soffits

The areas that peel first. We scrape, sand, spot-prime and re-caulk joints so the new paint actually bonds.

Doors, shutters & railings

Front doors, garage doors, shutters and porch railings — the details that make a home look finished.

Decks & fences

Staining and painting for decks, porches and fences to protect wood from moisture and UV damage.

Exterior house painting — siding and trim

Prep is where a lasting finish is made.

Most paint failures have nothing to do with the paint. They happen because the surface underneath wasn’t ready. That’s why every DACS painting estimate includes the prep your home actually needs:

  • Moving and covering furniture, and protecting floors with drop cloths and runners
  • Removing outlet covers, switch plates and hardware, and masking fixtures
  • Scraping loose paint and feather-sanding edges smooth
  • Patching holes, cracks and dents, and repairing small areas of damaged wood
  • Caulking gaps at trim, windows and siding joints
  • Spot-priming bare wood, stains and repairs — or full priming where needed
  • Two finish coats where coverage or a color change calls for it

Help choosing colors and finishes

Not sure where to start? We’re happy to bring color fan decks, talk through how a color will read in your light, and recommend the right sheen for each surface — flat for ceilings, matte or eggshell for walls, and satin or semi-gloss for trim, doors and cabinets. We use premium-grade paints from the major professional lines and can match virtually any color you have in mind.

A note on older homes

Many homes around Baltimore, Westminster and Frederick were built before 1978 and may contain lead-based paint. Federal rules require lead-safe work practices when that paint is disturbed. If your home is older, we’ll talk through testing and what’s required during your estimate so the work is done safely.

FAQ

Painting questions, answered.

Most single rooms take a day. A typical whole-floor repaint takes two to four days, and a full interior can take about a week depending on size, ceiling height, repairs and color changes. Your written estimate will include an expected timeline.

Late spring through early fall is ideal. Most exterior paints need surface and air temperatures to stay above roughly 50°F (some formulations go lower) and need a few dry hours after application, so we schedule around the forecast and avoid painting in direct afternoon sun or before rain.

In Maryland’s climate, painted wood siding and trim typically last about 5–8 years, while fiber cement and stucco often go 10 years or more. South- and west-facing walls fade and fail first. Peeling, chalking or cracked caulk are signs it’s time.

No. We’ll move and cover furniture as part of the job. We do ask that you put away small breakables, wall art and personal items so they’re safe.

Yes. Cabinet painting is one of the most cost-effective kitchen upgrades available. We clean and degloss the boxes and doors, prime with a bonding primer, and finish with a durable cabinet-grade enamel. It pairs well with new hardware, counters or a backsplash from our renovation team.
